About Me

I'm a 4th year Ph.D. candidate in Zimmerman Group at Department of Chemistry, University of Michigan. My research interests primarily lie in development of quantum chemical methodologies and applying them in various areas of chemistry including small-molecule catalysis, kinetic modelling and reaction discovery. Prior to this, I obtained my B.S. degree from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India.

Work Experience

Material Science (M.S.) Software Intern May 2025 - Aug 2025

Schrödinger, Inc., New York, NY

Research Experience

Graduate Student Research Assistant May 2022 - Present
Department of Chemistry, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI
Research Supervisor: Paul M. Zimmerman

My doctoral research lies at the interface of chemistry and scientific computing, which involves developing automated and predictive tools using quantum chemistry and machine learning, and utilizing them for mechanistic elucidation, reaction modelling and discovery.

Undergraduate Researcher Aug 2020 - Jul 2021
Department of Organic Chemistry, IISc Bangalore, India
Research Supervisor: Dr. Garima Jindal

Performed research work primarily focused on mechanistic investigation of biochemical reaction pathways occurring inside enzymatic active sites through DFT calculations, QM/MM modelling and molecular dynamics simulations.

Summer Research Fellow May 2018 - Mar 2020
Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, IISc Bangalore, India
Research Supervisor: Prof. Partha Sarathi Mukherjee

Studied photochromism and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) of molecules inside confined nanospaces using typical host-guest encapsulation studies along with various spectroscopic characterization techniques.
